Introduction

Teacher shows 10 pencils.

Children count.

Teacher then adds one more pencil.

Children answer:

Continue until 20.

Explain that numbers after 9 continue as 10, 11, 12...20.

Ordinal numbers tell us the position of a person or object.
We write them as 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th...10th.
Examples: first, second, third, tenth.
