(For Grade I)
These questions are designed for written responses. Children can write short sentences, draw pictures, or fill in words. The questions are presented in English first, with Hindi translations/support in parentheses to support bilingual learning. Teachers can encourage children to think in Hindi first and then write simple English responses. This builds written expression in both languages gradually.
Part 1: What is Science?
- What is science? Write in two-three words. (विज्ञान क्या है? दो-तीन शब्दों में लिखो।)
- What do we learn in science? (हम विज्ञान में क्या सीखते हैं?)
- What do scientists do? (वैज्ञानिक (scientist) क्या करते हैं?)
- Write the name of one thing around you that you want to learn about through science. (अपने आस-पास की एक चीज़ का नाम लिखो जिसे तुम विज्ञान से जानना चाहते हो।)
- How does science teach us about the world? (विज्ञान हमें दुनिया के बारे में कैसे सिखाता है?)
Part 2: The Five Senses
- Write the names of the five senses in English. (Five senses के नाम English में लिखो।)
- Write the names of the five senses in Hindi. (पाँच इन्द्रियों के नाम हिंदी में लिखो।)
- What do eyes do? (आँखें क्या करती हैं?)
- What do ears do? (कान का काम क्या है? / Ears का काम क्या है?)
- What do we do with our nose? (नाक से हम क्या करते हैं?)
- What is the tongue used for? (जीभ का उपयोग क्या है?)
- What do we feel with our skin? (त्वचा (skin) से हम क्या महसूस करते हैं?)
- Draw pictures: eyes, ears, nose, tongue, and hand (skin). Write under each what it does. (अपने चित्र बनाओ: आँखें, कान, नाक, जीभ और हाथ (त्वचा)। हर एक के नीचे लिखो कि वह क्या करती है।)
- Which sense do we use to hear sound? (कौन-सी इन्द्रियाँ हम sound सुनने के लिए इस्तेमाल करते हैं?)
- Which sense do we use to smell? (Smell करने के लिए कौन-सी इन्द्रियाँ काम आती है?)
Part 3: Observation Questions
- Look at a flower and write: What colour is it? (एक फूल को देखकर लिखो: इसका रंग क्या है?)
- Touch the flower and write: How does it feel? (soft/hard) (फूल को छूकर बताओ: यह कैसा लगता है? (मुलायम/कठोर))
- Write the name of a fruit (like apple) and tell how it tastes. (एक फल (जैसे सेब) का नाम लिखो और बताओ कि वह taste में कैसा है।)
- Ring a bell and write: What sound did you hear? (घंटी (bell) बजाकर लिखो: क्या sound सुनाई दिया?)
- Touch a stone and write: Is it cold or warm? (एक पत्थर को छूकर लिखो: यह cold है या warm?)
- What things do you see in your room? Write the names of three things. (अपने कमरे में क्या-क्या चीजें दिखाई देती हैं? तीन चीजों के नाम लिखो।)
- What do you smell when playing outside? (बाहर खेलते समय तुम क्या smell करते हो?)
- Touch a cloth and write: Is it soft or rough? (एक कपड़ा (cloth) छूकर लिखो: यह soft है या rough?)
- Observe your favourite toy and write three things (colour, shape, feel). (अपने पसंदीदा खिलौने को observe करो और तीन बातें लिखो (रंग, आकार, feel)।)
- Look at and smell a leaf. What will you write? (एक पत्ते (leaf) को देखो और smell करो। क्या लिखोगे?)
Part 4: Mixed Questions
- How do we observe with our senses? Give one example. (हम अपनी इन्द्रियों से कैसे observe करते हैं? एक उदाहरण दो।)
- Why is observation important in science? (Science में observation क्यों महत्वपूर्ण है?)
- Choose one thing at home and tell how you know it with eyes, ears, and hands. (अपने घर में एक चीज़ चुनो और बताओ कि तुम उसे eyes, ears और hands से कैसे जानते हो।)
- Draw a scientist and write what he/she is observing. (Draw एक scientist और लिखो कि वह क्या observe कर रहा है।)
- Which is your favourite sense and why? (पाँच इन्द्रियों में से अपनी सबसे पसंदीदा इन्द्रियाँ कौन-सी है और क्यों?)
- If we had no eyes, what would happen? Write in two-three words. (अगर हम आँखें न होतीं तो क्या होता? दो-तीन शब्दों में लिखो।)
- Observe a bird and write: What did you see? What did you hear? (एक पक्षी (bird) को observe करके लिखो: क्या देखा? क्या सुना?)
- Write observations about your friend: What is his/her hair like? What is the smile like? (अपने दोस्त के बारे में observation लिखो: उसका hair कैसा है? smile कैसी है?)
- Touch and taste water and write how it is. (Water को touch करके और taste करके लिखो कि वह कैसा है।)
- What is the loudest sound in the classroom? (Classroom में सबसे loud sound क्या है?)
Part 5: Drawing-Based Questions
- Draw the five senses and write the name in English and Hindi under each. (पाँच इन्द्रियों के चित्र बनाओ और हर एक के नीचे English और Hindi में नाम लिखो।)
- Draw a fruit and describe it using four senses. (एक फल का चित्र बनाओ और चार senses से उसका description लिखो।)
- Draw your favourite animal and tell how you will observe it. (अपने पसंदीदा animal का चित्र बनाओ और बताओ कि तुम उसे कैसे observe करोगे।)
- Draw a tree and write: How do the leaves feel? (एक tree का चित्र बनाओ और लिखो: leaves कैसे feel होते हैं?)
- Look at the cover of your science book and write three observations. (Science book का cover देखकर तीन observations लिखो।)
