Day-wise Detailed Plan

Day 1 – Monday: Nature & Environment

New Words: lush, breeze, dazzling, meadow, thunder, drizzle, blossom, valley, ripple, fragrant, majestic, serene Hook: Show a 30-second video of rain in a forest. Activities:

  • Picture description in pairs using 5 new words
  • “Word Rain” game (teacher says clue → children shout word)
  • Fill-in-the-blanks worksheet Homework: Draw any nature scene and label 6 new words.

Day 2 – Tuesday: Animals & Birds

New Words: prowling, graceful, cunning, soar, camouflage, hibernate, fierce, playful, migrate, endangered, nocturnal, herd Hook: Play animal sounds – children guess the animal. Activities:

  • Animal charades using new words
  • Synonym-antonym matching race
  • Write 5 sentences: “A fox is … because …” Homework: Make an animal fact card using 4 new words.

Day 3 – Wednesday: Feelings & Actions

New Words: astonished, delighted, tremble, giggle, furious, grateful, whisper, dash, stroll, curious, embarrassed, proud Hook: Teacher acts out 3 feelings without speaking – children guess + say the word. Activities:

  • Short story reading with blanks (children fill new words)
  • Role-play: “How would you feel if…” situations
  • Feelings diary entry (5 sentences) Homework: Write about one day when you felt astonished/grateful/furious.

Day 4 – Thursday: Places & Travel

New Words: bustling, ancient, crowded, deserted, harbour, palace, monument, glacier, oasis, waterfall, bridge, tunnel Hook: Show Google Earth view of famous Indian places (Taj Mahal, Kerala backwaters, Thar desert). Activities:

  • India map activity – stick new word labels on correct places
  • “If I visit _____, I will see…” speaking round
  • Postcard writing from an imaginary trip (use 6 new words) Homework: Draw your dream travel place and describe in 6–8 lines.

Day 5 – Friday: Festivals & Food

New Words: vibrant, delicious, decorate, sweets, fireworks, lantern, relish, costume, celebration, mouth-watering, sparkle, feast Hook: Bring real sweets/ladoo to class (or pictures) and let children smell/see. Activities:

  • Big Week-End Quiz (60 words mixed) – team buzzer round
  • “My Favourite Festival” paragraph (must use minimum 8 new words from the whole week)
  • Class festival board – children write one new word + drawing
  • Prize for “Vocabulary Stars” of the week Homework (weekend): Create your own picture dictionary (10 pages) choosing your favourite 20 words from the week with drawing + sentence.
