Ask:

What am I doing?

Students answer:

Walking, Jumping, Reading...

Explain:

These words show actions.

These are called Verbs.

What is a Verb? (क्रिया क्या है?)

English

A verb is a word that tells us what a person, animal or thing does.

It shows an action or a state of being.

Examples:

  • Ravi runs.
  • Mother cooks food.
  • Birds fly.
  • The baby sleeps.

The words runs, cooks, fly, sleeps are verbs.

हिन्दी

क्रिया वह शब्द है जो किसी व्यक्ति, पशु या वस्तु के कार्य या अवस्था को बताता है।

उदाहरण:

  • रवि दौड़ता है।
  • माँ खाना बनाती है।
  • पक्षी उड़ते हैं।
  • बच्चा सोता है।

दौड़ता, बनाती, उड़ते और सोता क्रिया हैं।
