An adjective is a word that describes or gives more information about a noun or pronoun.

Adjective वह शब्द है जो किसी Noun या Pronoun की विशेषता बताता है।

There are mainly five types of adjectives:

  1. Adjective of Quality (गुणवाचक विशेषण)
  2. Adjective of Quantity (परिमाणवाचक विशेषण)
  3. Adjective of Number (संख्यावाचक विशेषण)
  4. Demonstrative Adjective (संकेतवाचक विशेषण)
  5. Possessive Adjective (अधिकारवाचक विशेषण)

1. Adjective of Quality (गुणवाचक विशेषण)

It tells the quality or nature of a person or thing.

यह किसी व्यक्ति या वस्तु के गुण को बताता है।

Examples:

  • Good boy (अच्छा लड़का)
  • Brave soldier (बहादुर सैनिक)
  • Sweet mango (मीठा आम)

Sentences:

  • She is a kind girl.
  • He is a brave soldier.

2. Adjective of Quantity (परिमाणवाचक विशेषण)

It shows the quantity of something.

यह किसी वस्तु की मात्रा बताता है।

Examples:

  • Some water
  • Much milk
  • Little sugar

Sentences:

  • There is some water in the bottle.
  • I have little money.

3. Adjective of Number (संख्यावाचक विशेषण)

It shows the number or order of nouns.

यह संख्या या क्रम बताता है।

Examples:

  • Two boys
  • Five books
  • First prize

Day 3: More Types of Adjectives (विशेषण के अन्य प्रकार)

4. Demonstrative Adjectives (संकेतवाचक विशेषण)

These point out specific nouns.

ये किसी विशेष वस्तु की ओर संकेत करते हैं।

  • Those trees

Sentences:

  • This pen is mine.
  • Those stars are bright.

5. Possessive Adjectives (अधिकारवाचक विशेषण)

These show possession or belonging.

ये अधिकार या संबंध बताते हैं।

Day 4: Degrees of Comparison (तुलना की अवस्थाएँ)

Students will understand how adjectives compare people or things.

Study Material

Adjectives have three degrees:

  1. Positive Degree (सामान्य अवस्था)
  2. Comparative Degree (तुलनात्मक अवस्था)
  3. Superlative Degree (सर्वोत्तम अवस्था)

1. Positive Degree

Shows only one person or thing.

केवल एक व्यक्ति या वस्तु का गुण बताता है।

Example:

  • Ram is tall.

2. Comparative Degree

Compares two persons or things.

दो व्यक्तियों या वस्तुओं की तुलना करता है।

Examples:

  • Ram is taller than Shyam.
  • This book is more interesting than that one.

3. Superlative Degree

Compares more than two and shows the highest quality.

दो से अधिक लोगों या वस्तुओं में सबसे अधिक गुण बताता है।

Examples:

  • Mount Everest is the highest mountain.
  • She is the best student.
