Then ask another student to pull a toy using a string.

What is Force? (बल क्या है?)

Force is a push or a pull that can change the state of an object.

Force can:

  • Move a stationary object.
  • Stop a moving object.
  • Change the speed of an object.
  • Change the direction of motion.
  • Change the shape of an object.

Types of Force (बल के प्रकार)

1. Push (धक्का)

A push moves an object away from us.

Examples:

  • Closing a door
  • Pushing a trolley
  • Moving a chair

2. Pull (खींच)

A pull brings an object towards us.

Special Types of Forces

A. Gravity (गुरुत्वाकर्षण बल)

English

Gravity is the force that pulls all objects towards the Earth.

Examples:

  • Fruits fall from trees.
  • Rain falls to the ground.
  • We remain on the ground instead of floating.

B. Friction (घर्षण बल)

English

Friction is the force that opposes motion when two surfaces rub against each other.

Examples:

  • Walking without slipping.
  • Brakes stopping a bicycle.
  • Writing with a pencil.

C. Magnetic Force (चुंबकीय बल)

English

A magnet attracts iron and some other metals.

Examples:

Produces warmth.

Helps us see.

4. Sound Energy (ध्वनि ऊर्जा)

Produced by vibrating objects.

Examples:

  • Bell
  • Drum
  • Speaker

5. Electrical Energy (विद्युत ऊर्जा)

Runs electrical appliances.

Examples:

  • Fan
  • Television
  • Refrigerator
  • Computer

6. Chemical Energy (रासायनिक ऊर्जा)

Stored in food, fuels, and batteries.

Examples:

  • Food
  • Petrol
  • Diesel
  • Battery

These can be used again and again.
