3. Introduction / परिचय

Teacher shows pictures of a bus, train, boat and aeroplane.

Teacher says:

“Children, we use different vehicles to go from one place to another.”

“बच्चों, हम एक स्थान से दूसरे स्थान तक जाने के लिए अलग-अलग वाहनों का उपयोग करते हैं।”

“These vehicles are called means of transport.”

“इन वाहनों को परिवहन के साधन कहते हैं।”

4. What is Transport? / परिवहन क्या है?

Transport means carrying people or goods from one place to another.

परिवहन का अर्थ लोगों या सामान को एक स्थान से दूसरे स्थान तक ले जाना है।

Examples:

  • We use a bus to go to school.
  • We use a truck to carry goods.
  • We use a train to travel to distant places.
  • We use a boat to travel on water.
  • We use an aeroplane to travel through the air.

5. Types of Transport / परिवहन के प्रकार

There are three main types:

1. Land Transport / स्थल परिवहन

2. Water Transport / जल परिवहन

3. Air Transport / वायु परिवहन

Vehicles that travel on roads or railway tracks are examples of land transport.

जो वाहन सड़कों या रेलवे की पटरियों पर चलते हैं, वे स्थल परिवहन के साधन हैं।

  • Bicycle – साइकिल
  • Scooter – स्कूटर
  • Motorcycle – मोटरसाइकिल
  • Car – कार

7. Water Transport / जल परिवहन

Vehicles that travel on water are called water transport.

जो वाहन पानी पर चलते हैं, उन्हें जल परिवहन कहते हैं।

Examples:

  • Boat – नाव
  • Ship – जहाज
  • Ferry – नौका
  • Yacht – नौका/यॉट

Teacher asks:

Where does a boat travel?
नाव कहाँ चलती है?

→ On water / पानी पर

Which water vehicle can carry many people and goods?
→ Ship

8. Air Transport / वायु परिवहन

Vehicles that travel through the air are called air transport.

जो वाहन हवा में उड़ते हैं, उन्हें वायु परिवहन कहते हैं।

Examples:

  • Aeroplane – हवाई जहाज
  • Helicopter – हेलीकॉप्टर
  • Hot-air balloon – गर्म हवा का गुब्बारा

Teacher asks:

Which vehicle can take us to another country quickly?
→ Aeroplane

Which vehicle can take off and land in a small area?
→ Helicopter

10. Importance of Transport / परिवहन का महत्व

Transport is important because:

1. It helps us travel.

यह हमें यात्रा करने में मदद करता है।

2. It carries goods.

यह सामान एक जगह से दूसरी जगह पहुँचाता है।

3. It helps people reach school and work.

यह लोगों को स्कूल और काम की जगह तक पहुँचने में मदद करता है।

4. It connects different places.

यह अलग-अलग स्थानों को जोड़ता है।

5. It helps us travel long distances.

यह हमें लंबी दूरी तय करने में मदद करता है।

11. Special Means of Transport / विशेष परिवहन साधन

Explain simply:

  • Ambulance – takes sick or injured people to a hospital.
    एम्बुलेंस बीमार या घायल लोगों को अस्पताल ले जाती है।
  • Fire engine – helps put out fires.
    फायर इंजन आग बुझाने में मदद करता है।
  • Police vehicle – helps police perform their duties.
    पुलिस वाहन पुलिस को अपना काम करने में मदद करता है।
  • School bus – takes children to and from school.
    स्कूल बस बच्चों को स्कूल लाने-ले जाने का काम करती है।

14. Classroom Activity 3 – Sorting Game

Make three headings on the board:

LAND 🚗 | WATER 🚢 | AIR ✈️

Give students vehicle flashcards.

Students come to the board and place each picture under the correct heading.

This activity helps children learn through movement and participation.

15. Road Safety Rules / सड़क सुरक्षा नियम

Introduce simple safety rules:

  1. Always walk on the footpath where available.
    जहाँ फुटपाथ हो, उसका उपयोग करें।
  2. Cross the road at a safe crossing.
    सड़क सुरक्षित स्थान से पार करें।
  3. Follow traffic lights.
    ट्रैफिक लाइट का पालन करें।
  4. Wear a seat belt in a car.
    कार में सीट बेल्ट लगाएँ।
  5. Wear a helmet while riding a bicycle or two-wheeler.
    साइकिल या दोपहिया वाहन चलाते समय हेलमेट पहनें।
  6. Never play on the road.
    सड़क पर कभी न खेलें।
