 Duration: 1 week (5 days, ~30–35 minutes each day)

  • Beads, colored blocks, buttons, sticks


     
  • Worksheets with simple shape and color patterns

📌 Day 1: What is a Pattern?

Objective: Understand what a pattern is
 Warm-up (5 min):

  • Show students your shirt, tiles, or classroom decoration. Ask: “What repeats?”


     

Activity (15 min):

  • Use colored blocks to make a simple pattern: 🔴🔵🔴🔵


     
  • Ask: “What comes next?”


     
  • Let children copy the pattern with their own blocks.


     

Worksheet / Practice (10 min):

Circle the object that comes next in very simple 2-object patterns:

  • Children copy patterns you make using buttons.


     
  • Then let them create their own 2-color pattern.

Draw the next picture in patterns:

  • Ask: “What comes next?” Let them draw 🔴⚪.

  • Ask: “What is next?” Discuss Owen’s guess.
